Can you learn to wed?

In Colorado, a law was proposed to require those wishing to wed to take a pre-marital class. This law proposes that first timers must take 10 hours of the class but those who are wishing to marry a second time are  required to take double the hours of the class. I do not think that this will help those going for a second time around. If you have taken the class already and failed your marriage, why would taking the class again for a longer period help the situation. This could be successful in the hopes to help those who fear failure of marriage. Hopefully the class will be teaching core values and how to handle money issues in marriage, this could be a very good thing for some.

I think that mandatory marriage classes is not that bad of an idea. With divorce rates as high as they are, I think it would be good experience for couples to get an idea of what their getting themselves into. I think it would be a good law for every state to implement.

I like the idea of these classes, but I don't think that it should be mandatory for new couple to have to take them. I feel like marriage is something that you have too learn as you go through it, and not something that can be taught. However, I feel like they could still be helpful for people who are feeling lost when they are about to get married.
