I'm pretty sure that everyone has heard about the terrifying luge accident that happened during the Vancouver Olympics. The Vancouver organizing committee decided that the family of the Luger receive a death benefit. The committee took out insurance on the approximately 5,000 members of the Olympic family, including athletes, for the games. For me i believe it is a private issue between the committee and the family. I'm glad that the family received something for what happened but no amount of money can buy a person back.

True, very true. No matter how much money you get for the lost, that will never bring the person back. It is a sad issue though. The death benefit must have been a must, but I'm sure it didn't bring much happiness for those who lost a family member.
Thank God they hAD AN INSURANCE POLICY. True no amount of money can replace a life but at leats they covered their asses. Crazy freak accident.
