Immigration Policies of Giocatori

 http://www.usillegalaliens.com/images/dsoii_logo_large.gif
Principles of our Immigration Policies:
  • the reunification of families
  • admitting immigrants with skills that are valuable to the economy
  • protecting refugees
  • promoting diversity
A governing body will determine the parameters of the obtainment of a visa or citizenship status to enter the country. Immediate family of existing citizens, people who will contribute to the country's economy, refugees and others may apply for a Visa. Not all applicants will be accepted as a limit for each year will be imposed. The limit number will be determined by the governing body each year.
Illegal immigrants will be initially incarcerated. During their incarceration they will have the chance to apply for a Visa but not guaranteed legal re-entry. During this time however, they will be tried and if they are found to be a harm to society, the deportation of said individual will ensue. They will be deported to their native land or place of origin and will be unable to apply for a visa or citizenship.
Natives who reside in the country are granted citizenship status. If a residing native commits a felony or act of terrorism is committed, then said individual will be tried and if found guilty, they will be incarcerated or deported, depending on the circumstances.
2. Cultural Assimilation: how to inculcate your values before you and your value system perish;

in order to assimilate the  Monoa tribe  with our El Dorodans first we would need to set up our own camp on the new nation. then start building schools, hospitals, jails etc for us el dorodans and soon let the monoa tribe use our amenities with us. before a monoa tribe member can use our amenities and become an el dorodan they would first need to go through a court type of process to be initiated in the nation. using this process i believe could work well and very efficient in connecting the world into one nation. this type of process would not take from the monoa tribe but actually help the tribe in many ways and eventually connect them with the nation.

Economic Development

There are valid reasons as to why we should teach our culture to these people. We plan to do this in a very logical way, in which we think will help accomplish our goal. First we will show them that we care about these cultures combining to create a larger culture. We will instill the views of the modern world on these people. Show them that in such a world as this it is difficult to become successful without the use of modern day technologies. We also plan to instill our values of unity and happiness in order to accomplish the goal of stability in government and community.

I didn't listen to the whole speech, but instead i read parts of the written speech below the video. I agree with much of this relates to the issues between the two societies we have in our island. Two communities sharing their "opinion, judgement and having the capacity thus to think together" in order to resolve the issues at hand.

Happiness

In order to measure someones happiness you would first have to understand what makes them happy and eventually how happy that makes them.
1. Health. My opinion is that if your body is in good health, then your mind will be affected in a positive manner because its easier to be happy when you healthy. The healthier you are the happier you are.
2. Relationships. A relationship is a great way to measure happiness. The more relationships you develop in life shows your levels of personal interest.
3. Respect. The more respect people give and receive effects their happiness. Happiness starts with yourself, self respect is the key to a happier way of living. If you don't respect yourself, your happiness will diminish.
4. Sight.Through sight you can experience a visual excitement that creates happiness. Your sight points out your visual passions.
5. Knowledge. People are naturally happy. You have to learn how to be unhappy.

Happiness in Our Country's Citizens

In our country I believe happiness can be measured pretty easily.

1. Health & Fitness: It is simple, if your body is healthy then you will be healthy and happy.
2. Social life: If someone is more often at home, sitting by themselves doing nothing that will not be fun and will make someone unhappy. Friends and family help to make you smile and in turn stay happy.
3. Good standard of living: If you have a good place to live and clothes on your back, then you should be happy because of it. In our country those who don't have good, clean places to live are probably less happy and we should find a way to fix that.
4. Sense of community: Those who help the community and work to create more of a cumminty will feel like they are most involved and have a place to call home, which can in turn create happiness.
5. Job stability: If you have a steady source of income, you should be happy, those with a higher income will probably be more happy since they can go out and buy the stuff that they want and not have to worry about it as much.

I would say your happiness can be measured in our country by these five things. If you have all 5 of these things, I would consider the citizen very happy. Three or more would be considered content, and anything less than three i would consider to be unhappy. Those unhappy people should be working on filling those empty spaces with the remaining of the five listed above. The only person that can make you happier, is yourself.

Happiness: It's as easy as.....

Happiness, it's as easy as one, two, three, and then some. In an article based upon the findings of Psychology Department at the University of California found  here, talks about the science of happiness.  In order to really pinpoint how to measure it, we must first know what makes us happy. One of the most intriguing pats to this is that being more social is not necessarily correlated to how happy you are. People who do not socialize as much can be just as happy as people who socialize more. Of course there is the inverse as well in regards to being unhappy.  Another very interesting observation is that people who were asked to record a blessing three times a week were less happy than those asked to record a blessing once a week. Then what about money? Does more money make you more happy? According to health.usnews.com, money does in fact make people more happy, to a certain extent of course. It states that a yearly salary of up to $75,000 will increase a persons wellbeing and happiness, but anything more than that, the effect is less measurable.
As anyone can see, the path to happiness is very complicated and it is no easy task.  Blow is a chart that illustrates the different factors that influence happiness.
This and more info can be found here.
As you can see, many of the factors that people try to change the most that they think will affect their happiness, individually do not count for much. In all, factors such as where one lives, how much money they have spirituality/religion, and even friends only add up to a quarter (1/4) of what makes us happy. If one were to be in a great relationship and were healthy an enjoyed their work, but did not have the things listed above, they would be pretty happy. If five things were to be measured to see how happy people would be in the country would be as follows:

1.Health records
2.Money made
3.Money spent
4.Hours awake in the morning
5.Sense of content (survey)

The science of happiness is an ongoing project that may never see an end. And though there is no simple easy answer as to how to be happy, we an try to learn all we can and implement the in our lives.

I would like to know what makes you happy. Please comment below and let me know what you think.  Enjoy!

After reading everyone's post, which we all seem to be somewhat on the same page with where we are as a group.  For the most part I fell that we are just moving along pretty smoothly and everyone is doing their part fairly well.  There are times where some assignments are missed by certain individuals but that's only affecting their own grades not necessarily the groups grade.

I also believe in the times where I've been absent, my shoes have been filled completely if not more by Anthony & Charlotte which I really appreciate them stepping up which shows their character and leadership skills.  But for the most part all of us are just sailing through the course in my opinion and we do not need to add or subtract anyone from our group.

Group Work Info

1. My group did a fair share with all our information on the project. It affected our group performance by having all the materials and information on time and ready to present. Everyone, including myself, worked and contributed to this project equally. We all rate at a 10 in our groups performance.

2. At this point I would not want to remove a member from my group. If I could add another person to my group, they would have to be responsible, creative, and good work ethic.

3. Basic workplace rules in my group are very important.
A. 10
B. 10
C. 10
D. 10
E. 10
F. 10

4. Group rules

  1. Work well with others
  2. Have a good attitude
  3. Stay on task
  4. Help solve problems
  5. Be ready to take on challenges

Thursday, April 3, 2014

1.     in my group i strongly agree that everyone including myself did their fair share on the midterm presentation. concluding no one person in the group who did less than their fair share. following that each person nailed their task in the presentation, affected our groups performance greatly. since my group did such a great job i would have to put my contribution among the lest. on a scale of 1 to 10 i would rate my performance a 7 with the others in the group something higher.

2.      if i could i would not remove a member from our group, due to the fact that everyone in our group is doing a great job on the tasks. if i could  add someone to our group his/her characteristics would be just like everyone else in the group already, this person would just simply bring more information to the task at hand.

3.     basic workplace rules such as the following were important , because if someone in the group were to not do the basic rules everyone in the group would have a harder time making up for them.

          A. showing up 10. you have to be there to do the job.
          B. doing your fair share 7. if you don't do your share someone else has to.
          C. being on time 5. showing up late never looks good but could be manageable.
          D. communication 8. communication with others isn't always easy but is necessary to get the job done.
          E. conflict 8. taking care of the conflict between group members has never been a challenge for me.
          F. present 9. being present in the group without being detracted by other things is necessary to comprehend what is going on within the group.

4.      1. on time within 10 min.
         2. ready to work
         3. respect each other
         4. compromise with ideas
         5. put in an equal amount of work.

My humble opinion...

Yes, the tie is too short.

1. There will always be some variation in the workload of each member in a group, so though some may have worked more than others, I do not believe there is anything majorly wrong with it.  I would put my own workload towards the higher end of the scale, but I know everyone perceives their own contribution more than others do. Again, a tad higher than average, let's say 7 out of 10, but again, everyone's “7” is different so I take that into account.

2. At this time, or anytime really, would I feel the need to remove a member from our team. I also do not think we would need another person to help our current team accomplish any task better.

3. Most of these workplace rules were implied in our group and each are rated below in relation to importance, not quality, in our group:

A. Showing up---10
B. Doing your fair share---8
C. Being on time---10
D. Responding timely to email and communicating effectively with other members---5
E. Handling conflict among group members---4
F. Being present in the group---9

4. In order for a group to be effective, it must at least follow these five rules:

Be respectful
Keep an open mind
Ask relevant questions
Be persistent
Give it your “all”
The Sacramento Kings Presentation (reflection)

I think that our group did very well with our presentation. I liked how we opened strong and finished even stronger. In our group everyone did atlest an average of 5 performance and research. I think that Hamid took it a step farther with the articles, making him the person i believe did more than his fair share. I think I can rate myself as a positive 6, since i could have focused on some type of visual aid to my part of the presentation, even though the video i found was pretty cool.

I would not remove anyone from our group and if i were to add someone, i would want them to have some planning skills and leadership since sometimes our leader is unavoidably absent and it would be nice to have someone to help when hes not there.

 Rating my group

A.  Showing up - 9
 B.  Doing your fair share - 8.5
C.  Being on time - 7
D.  Responding timely to email and communicating effectively with other members - 6
E.  Handling conflict among group members  - 10
F.  Being present in the group -- not distracted by outside cell phone calls or text messages when the group is meeting. - 9

The fives rules I came up with for an effective group came from my reflection on the article by Sarah Malaya Sniezek. How Groups Work (article)
1. A successful group must have a common interest and goal.
2. An effective group must be "socially attracted" to each member.
3. There must be a leader.
4. Cohesion: common identity, social relationships.
5. Conformity to the groups policies/rules/requirements.
